Kraft Paper Packaging

Ecolink supplies custom kraft paper packaging for wholesale distributors, e-commerce brands, retailers, food-service businesses and corporate gift companies. Established in 2011, we develop paper packaging solutions for bulk orders, OEM projects and private label programs. Available options include custom sizes, printed logos, retail-ready packaging and product-specific structures. Our team can review your drawings, packaging requirements and target order volume before quotation. For food-contact applications, material construction, coatings, inks and applicable compliance documents must be confirmed for the selected product. Contact us for product specifications, samples and a project-based quotation.

Technical Specifications & Buying Guide

Kraft paper packaging covers several product types, including paper gift boxes, wine carriers, paper bags, vented produce punnets, paper tubes and flexible paper pouches. The correct specification depends on the product weight, packing method, storage conditions, printing requirements and distribution route.

Ecolink helps buyers compare packaging structures before placing bulk orders. Final specifications should be approved against a physical sample or signed specification sheet.

How to Select the Right Kraft Paper Packaging

Paper grade and GSM

GSM measures paper weight per square meter. It is not, by itself, a guarantee of strength. A wine carrier, retail shopping bag and berry punnet have different load-bearing and structural requirements. Select the paper grade based on product weight, stacking conditions and transport risks..

01

Packaging structure

Folding cartons suit many retail and gift applications. Paper bags require appropriate handle strength and bottom construction. Vented punnets need openings that support airflow while retaining the packaged produce. Pouches may require specific barrier properties and sealing performance.

02

Surface treatment

Uncoated kraft paper is suitable for many dry-product and general packaging applications. Moisture resistance, grease resistance and food-contact suitability depend on the actual coating, adhesive and ink system. Do not assume that every kraft paper product is recyclable, compostable or suitable for direct food contact without checking its full construction.

03

Color and printing

Natural brown paper gives products a plain kraft appearance. White paper or a printed surface may be preferable when brand colors and artwork reproduction are important. Request a printed sample when color consistency is a purchasing requirement.

How It's Made: Kraft Paper Packaging Manufacturing Process

The production route varies by packaging type. A folding carton, paper bag and flexible pouch do not use exactly the same equipment or finishing operations. The following steps describe a typical paper-packaging workflow.

Material sourcing: Select paper or paperboard according to the approved grade, color, thickness and intended application. Recycled-content or certified-source requirements should be documented when specified by the buyer.

Specification review: Confirm dimensions, product weight, structural design, artwork, printing colors, folding requirements and packing method before production.

Cutting and die-making: Prepare the cutting layout and tooling required for the selected box, bag, punnet or other structure. Check blank dimensions against the approved drawing.

Printing and surface treatment: Apply the approved artwork and any suitable coating or finish. Food-contact applications require assessment of the complete material system, including inks, adhesives and coatings.

Die-cutting and creasing: Cut the packaging blanks and form the creases needed for accurate folding. Inspect critical dimensions and folding positions.

Folding, gluing and assembly: Assemble the structure using the specified adhesive and construction method. Check seams, handle attachment, bottom strength and closure performance as applicable.

Quality inspection and packing: Inspect appearance, dimensions, print registration, bonding and structural performance against the agreed specification. Pack finished goods to reduce crushing, moisture exposure and surface damage during transport.

Quality Checks for Bulk Orders

Before mass production, buyers should agree on the inspection criteria that matter to the application:

  • Dimensional tolerances and folding accuracy.
  • Paper grade and GSM requirements.
  • Print position, color references and artwork version.
  • Adhesive bonding and handle attachment where applicable.
  • Load or compression tests where the packaging design requires them.
  • Carton quantity, carton dimensions, gross weight and shipping marks.

Customization & OEM/ODM Capability

Ecolink supports packaging customization for retailers, online sellers, food-service distributors and corporate gift programs. The available options depend on the selected product and its production method.

OEM and Private Label Order Process

01/

Send the specification. Provide drawings, reference photographs, product dimensions, target quantity and destination market.

02/

Review feasibility. Confirm the paper grade, packaging structure, printing process, tooling needs and packing method.

03/

Approve the sample. Check the physical sample for fit, folding, printing and structural performance before approving mass production.

04/

Confirm the order. Agree on the final specification, unit price, MOQ, lead time, carton dimensions, packing quantity and agreed Incoterms.

05/

Production and shipment. Inspect the goods against the approved specification and confirm the shipping documents and carton marks before dispatch.

For planning purposes, allow approximately 7–15 days for sampling and 30–45 days for mass production after confirmation of the specifications and artwork. These are indicative estimates, not guaranteed lead times. New tooling, special materials, printing complexity and order volume can change the schedule.

MOQ, Pricing and Shipping

There is no single MOQ that applies to every kraft paper packaging product. A standard stock item, a custom-printed bag and a newly developed box may have different minimum order requirements.

When requesting a bulk quotation, specify:

  • Product model and dimensions.
  • Quantity per order and expected annual demand.
  • Printing requirements and packaging configuration.
  • Number of units per export carton.
  • Carton dimensions, gross weight and total shipment volume.
  • Destination port and preferred Incoterms, such as FOB or CIF.

Ecolink can assess whether the order is better suited to a trial run, a repeat wholesale program or a full-container shipment. A 40HQ loading plan should be calculated from the actual carton dimensions, gross weight, pallet configuration and carrier restrictions rather than from an assumed universal unit count.

Why Choose Ecolink as Your Kraft Paper Packaging Supplier

Established in 2011, Ecolink is a supplier of bamboo products, paper packaging and other plant-based alternatives to selected conventional plastic products. Our product range includes kraft paper packaging and food-service packaging, with product development and customization based on buyer requirements.

For B2B procurement, the most useful supplier information is measurable and verifiable. We recommend confirming the following details during quotation and sample approval.

Procurement item What Ecolink should confirm
Factory and supply model Identify the actual manufacturing site and any outsourced production steps
Production capacity Monthly output by product type and available capacity for the requested order
MOQ Confirm the minimum order for the selected model, artwork and printing method
Quality control Documented inspection criteria, sampling plan and acceptance limits
Packing standard Units per inner pack and export carton, carton dimensions and gross weight
Shipment planning Estimated CBM, container loading plan and shipment schedule
Port of loading Confirm the actual port and available FOB terms in the quotation
Order traceability Model number, batch or production records where applicable, and approved specifications

Quality Control Before Shipment

For wholesale and private label orders, we recommend a written inspection plan covering:

  • Material identity and paper weight.
  • Product dimensions and structural integrity.
  • Printing accuracy and approved artwork.
  • Bonding, folding and assembly.
  • Packing quantity, carton markings and shipment condition.

An AQL 2.5 sampling plan may be specified in a purchase agreement when appropriate, but it should not be presented as Ecolink's existing standard unless the factory confirms that it uses that plan. The inspection level, defect classification and acceptance criteria should be agreed before production.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Q: What is your MOQ for custom kraft paper packaging with our logo?

A: A: MOQ depends on the product model, dimensions, printing method and whether new tooling is required. Send your target quantity and artwork to obtain a model-specific MOQ and quotation.

Q: Q: Can you supply FBA-ready packaging and barcode labels?

A: A: E-commerce packing and labeling requirements can be reviewed during quotation. Provide the applicable fulfillment specifications, carton-label format, barcode requirements and destination warehouse instructions so the packing plan can be confirmed before production.

Q: Q: Is your kraft paper packaging suitable for food contact?

A: A: Suitability depends on the complete packaging construction and intended use. Request the relevant material specifications and applicable test documentation for the exact product. FDA-related requirements and LFGB testing should not be assumed to cover every SKU.

Q: Q: What is the lead time for a 40HQ order?

A: A: As an initial planning estimate, mass production may take 30–45 days after specifications and artwork are approved. The actual schedule depends on order volume, material availability, printing, tooling and production capacity. Container loading and shipment dates must be confirmed separately.

Q: Q: How do you control warping, cracking or packaging deformation?

A: A: Paper packaging requires controls appropriate to paper and board, not bamboo moisture-content specifications. Buyers should confirm paper grade, humidity exposure, stacking loads, carton protection and the required structural tests. Any warranty or defect remedy should be documented in the purchase agreement.
